Title Description:
Back in 98 the project "mpd" (tasos panagiotopoulos, costis drygianakis, nicolas malevitsis) was invited to contribute w/ soundscapes for an upcoming installation that members of an artists' group called "phokis collective" were working on.
"mpd" though were facing problems of both free time to work & also the distance between the group members (living in different cities of greece) & at the same time as well thanasis chondros & alexandra katsiani announced the disbadement of their alli poli society.
Somehow then, was born the idea/need for a new vehicle/language between the friends that were collaborating/supporting alli poli's activities. Accidentally was thrown the idea of handling like a sort of a little "festival" where both performances/installations or whatever could take place.
An event that materialized in 4 random days in 4 random places around the province of phokis at places of various friends which were transformed on the various occasions to "galleries", "studios", etc...
The events were baptised "research center for the definition of happiness" as the very first day out of a joke of how to call the whole thing, accidentally was lying on a table chondros/katsiani's same titled booklet and without seconds thoughts the name was adopted.
Since september '00, under licence & support also of chondros/katsiani, have started a series of various activities under the center's umbrella. one of which is the issue of limited edition releases produced & manufactured from various friends or members of the center. And finally here's nothing but a short documentation of the various activities that took place in phokis during the events of july 98.
