On this cd, this group of Dutch radical Luc Houtkamp focuses on the blues. The intricately complex, multi-layered character of the music is explored, but based on the directness and bareness of blues music.
The structure, styles and texts of the blues is commented and confronted with computer instruments, and is explored, without losing sight of the directness and bareness of blues music. Besides the exploration of blues forms and structures, the repertoire consist of a number of radical arrangements of classical blues masterpieces by Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, and Dutch composer Gilius van Bergeijk.
