Title Description:
L O Je Dors was commissioned by the choreographer Isabel Barros, for whom dreams were the subject of
work: a space, on stage, that you want to have as open as possible because, like in dreams, there are always
things beyond the limits of the visible, there are many possibilities, almost nothing is what it is , on her own
words. The title and the theme of the piece were inspired by the text of Maurice Blanchot The Dream, The Night,
third chapter of L' Espace Littraire.
Pedro Tudela followed the improvisation rehearsals from the very beginning, recording images and sounds of the then improvised movements and sharing the suggestions and motivations of both the choreographer and the dancers. During three months of intensive work between the rehearsal room and the studio they crossed experiences from the matter of dreams and the ideas shaped themselves trough gestures of reciprocal inspiration and improvisation. Influences were crossed to the point were the collaboration was not kept to the bounds initially set and itÕs outcome became visible in the staging of the piece and in the integrated way in which the edges of the dream are described and accompanied by the transformations in music, image and by the action of the performers, always growing, as they get deeper into the dream.
