The Product Series: Product establishes a new series of releases by Cr—nica. The Product Series aims at fusion and confrontation through releasing the work of two artists in a single CD. Experimental publishing one may call it, or the simple return to the vinyl split strategy, but this time in digital media.
Roughly, Product releases are split CDs comprising the audio and/or audiovisual work of two artists plus a special Cr—nica guest to produce the cover artwork.

Sumugan Sivanesan, Spare Your Speakers: Sumugan Sivanesan is based in Sydney, Australia. Having played in various rock bands in the early nineties, he became involved with experimental music and electronic arts through his association with new media and digital video. His video/audio works have received international exposure having been presented at various international festivals, including the International Symposium for Electronic Art (ISEA), in Nagoya, Japan 2002.

Dur‡n V‡zquez, Pigua Megapigua: Dur‡n V‡zquez started recording his work in the last years of the 20th century, using self-taught methods and without prior musical formation. The initial chaos was followed by a search of a language closer to techno and ambient and, already in the next century, chaos returned but this time with its own internal logic and order.

The elegant images from the Vienna-based, Swiss artist Maia Gusberti, re-p.org, achieve the perfect closure to the concept of this release and turn it into the special Product we conceptualized.
