Title Description: Phil Minton - voice Norbert Moeslang - cracked everyday-electronics ErikM - 3-k.pad system Andy Guhl - cracked everyday-electronics Guenter Mueller - ipod, mds, selected perc, electronics
Poire_Z create a cauldron of hot electronic warping, soliciting ears to raise high upon the sad nothingness of most of today's techno-geeks. This is a great aural experience, often similar to listening to a crazy AM radio station at night while being surrounded by the noises of a civil war; rarely improvisation gets better than this, another pearl in the brilliant For 4 Ears necklace. M.Ricci, Touching Extremes
its a particularly robust and enjoyable one, one of the best moments in the poire_z catalogue. E.Howard, Stylus Magazine
For what became Poire_Zs last performance, the quartet invited an unlikely guest: British vocalist Phil Minton. The singers highly idiosyncratic vocal experiments could be seen as the antithesis of Poire_Zs makeshift electronic spitter-spatter, but on the contrary, they complete each other rather well. Mintons snore like drones, throaty overtones, and scrambled shortwave-esque mumbles integrate fully into Voice Cracks chirping cracked everyday electronics, Guenter Muellers endless electronic treatments of minute percussive gestures and prerecorded sounds on iPod/MDs, and eRikms relentless noise sculpting. É As swansongs go, this album sees Poire_Z leaving the stage in style. F.Couture, All Music Guide
forthis they invited an instrument that was as far away as possible: the human voice. Here played by Phil Minton, so it's hard to tell what his voice and what are electronics. Poire_Z sound here more furious than before, and I don't mean that they became so much more noiser than before, but rather they are very focussed to what they do. The addition of Minton's voice, sometimes dry and recognizable and sometimes totally drenched inside the electronics add a great counterpoint to the otherwise electronic sound. Forty some minutes of intense and concentrated playing. F.deWaard, Vital
