The music selected for this Cdset (no vocals, just instrumental) comes mainly from old tapes. The oldest are more than 20 years old and have been lying in small damp rooms for several years, then moved to an attic which didnÕt provide particularly generous protection of the recorded material.
When T.S. and I began the long selection process, we had to go through a lengthy process of digital cleansing to optimise the recordings for the cd medium. The result is now captured on this double cd containing the best unreleased T.S. Hoeg recodings over the past 20 years, right from early jam sessions with John Tchicai, to recordings of HoegÕs big band Dane T.S. Hawk and his Great Mongo Dilmuns.
This album constitutes important documentation of Danish musical history, and the material deserves to be listened to over and over again.
