Title Description: P. Miles Bryson creates a delicate, minimal yet beautiful ambience out of location recordings and samples from tango and orchestral pieces. Very nice deep-listening music. One 53-minute long track. Limited to 500 copies. (Some Place Else)
My name is Miles Bryson. (Yes, that is in fact my real name and not just a catchy nom de guerre... P. Miles Bryson Ð the P is just for Phillip, my first name Énot Professor or Pope or Peabo or anything loftyÉ). Since sometime around 1999, the type of music I have been inflicting upon the world has been derived from live improvisations, found sounds and field recordings, all assembled into sound pieces, musique concrete, acousmatic, sound collage, plunderphonics and/or "experimental" (if you prefer categorizations.) In the past I have been involved in composition for chamber ensembles, orchestra, dance, performance art and theater. Those were the days when I actually sat down, wrote scores, met with performers, attended rehearsals and performances etc. But as all these things have become mostly impractical, (i.e. they don't pay enough ... or rather *anything* in my case...). I currently find myself leading a basically "ivory tower" existence... that is: I'm not currently touring or appearing anywhere but just enjoying my obscurity and relative anonymity. In fact, it's never really been my intention to be a performer of any sort, but simply to be a composer/writer/creator ... to turn out the best possible creations that I can and then release them, like parolees on an unsuspecting society, to wreak their own special brand of havoc. ( P. Miles Bryson )
