Title Description:
Recorded live at Para/Site Art Space on the eve of the Chinese Ghost Festival, "Ghost Feeding Vessel" is a rare free-form electronic improvisation between two Hong Kong experimental artists, Sin:Ned and Nerve.

"Ghost Feeding Vessel" was originally composed and performed by Sin:Ned and Nerve for the multi-media performance "Ritual for the Ghosts". As a follow-up project of "Dialogue with the Ghosts", the multi-media performance continue s to re-establish an on-going dialogue with the deceased , through re-interpret ation and re-activat ion of various local spiritual beliefs and rituals. The ultimate aim, is to confront and acknowledge, those who had been forgotten (unfinished business) , but still exist on the other side (or somewhere deep inside).

The search of liberation , for both the artists and the audience.

Art, as the ritual.

This is the core of "Ghost Feeding Vessel".

Surrounded by the enigmatic installations of Adrian Wong inside the venue, "Ghost Feeding Vessel" was composed and performed as the live soundtrack for the video projection of Nookei and Twiggy. Breaking away from the deterministic methdology of computer music, the two artists took a free-form approach, turning their laptops and electronic gears into tools of improvisation. Organic flow of sounds and ritualistic guestures of live instrumentation, punching in and sliding out with almost free jazz like movments, cut deeply into the uncharted territory between ethnical mysticism and post-modern digitalism. The flow of sound, becomes a journey of shamanic quest for vision beyond the electronic avant-garde.
