Title Description:
Roel Meelkop's second full length CD, following 1996's '9 (Holes In The Head'). Meelkop plays music since 1984, first solo as Happy Halloween, after that a member of the electro-acoustic ensemble THU20 (with whom he made recentely a third CD for Staalplaat). Early nineties he gave up arts altogether (being a trained painter and self-taught musician) and worked in several jobs, such as cook and constructionworker. In 1995 new developments in music technology lead him back to making music. With computers and samplers he is now fully capable of realizing what he wants. His music are movies for the ears, painting/filming with sound, and constantely discussing the relation "time-space-sound". Although he has been compared to Bernard Guenther (who released his first solo CD), his work is more open, joyful and above all more audible.
Besides his solo work, he is also a member of the Kapotte Muziek live line up and founding member of minimal techno group Goem. He also is the artistic director of the Audio.NL record label, and organises sound exhibitions.
